Our Story

Free Oregon, Inc. is a nonpartisan 501c(4) dedicated to the restoration, preservation and defense of American Civil Rights in Oregon. Our organization was founded in January 2020 when millions of Oregonians suddenly found themselves facing an all-out draconian assault when the government violated the most coveted of civil protections.

Our movement brought together tens of thousands of everyday Oregonians who took action, donated and pressured elected officials to “hold the line.” The energy, camaraderie and strength, infused from grassroots activism in the face desperate uncertainty, remains in our DNA to this day. It’s the juice behind our relentless mission to hold the most powerful and corrupt forces within our government accountable to we, the People.

For the first few years of our existence, our efforts fused grassroots political activism and legal warfare to hold the line on state and local governments who crossed legal and moral boundaries. Today, Free Oregon’s method of accountability rests solely on legal warfare.

But the issues we care about most remain the same: protecting medical and religious freedoms; gun, property and speech rights; equal rights under the law; and the right to participate in free and fair elections.

Most notable lawsuits since 2021:

Thielman vs. Fagan

Federal court challenge of Oregon’s vote by mail system claiming that Oregon voters are disenfranchised as a result of election anomalies, rules, chain of custody and lack of transparency in Oregon vote by mail system. This case is now being considered by the Supreme Court of the United States.

Free Oregon Inc. vs. Oregon Health Authority, Kate Brown

State court challenge of OAR’s 333-019-1010 and 333-019-1030 forcing healthcare workers, teachers, first responders and government workers to vaccinate for Covid-19 or lose their employment. Public pressure from this lawsuit caused Brown to remove the mandate while legal action was in process while enabling the State to avoid a loss and precedent.

Malcom Johnson vs. Kate Brown

Federal Court challenge of Kate Brown’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate citing violation of Nuremberg Code. The Ninth Circuit Court has legally characterized Nuremberg Code as “Juc Cogence” which means it is of the highest law and may never be limited, diluted or reduced. This case is currently active and before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Washington County vs. Tim Sippel

After successful appeal of Washington County’s refusal to provide the May 2021 special election test database, Sippel was given the entire 2020 election database. Free Oregon took on the defense of Sippel’s receipt of the election data and faced off with the Oregon Secretary of State and Attorney General to argue the most fundamental question of election integrity: does the data belong to the People or to the State? After a rigged trail in Washington County, this case is currently pending appeal to the Oregon State Supreme Court.

Bill Clark vs. Goodwill Industries

Mr. Clark was denied entry to a Goodwill retail store for not wearing an experimental mask. This ADA challenge was ultimately victorious and Goodwill settled out of court.

Ben Edtl vs. Best Buy

Mr. Edtl was forcibly removed from the Tualatin Best Buy for not wearing a mask in December 2021. The case was re-assigned to multiple judges. This was a 14th Amendment challenge that was dismissed after more than a year in federal court. Edtl and Free Oregon decided not to appeal the ruling.
